Howdy there, dear reader, all one of you! I’m back, and plan to begin posting pretty regularly, as I’m working on Book 3 of the Demon Catchers series, and getting involved in climate action, food sovereignty, and Native issues. I’m thinking a lot about prejudice, food, survival, my European immigrant culture, colonization, and how to work together and have a good time.
The book is at about 130,000 words and still pretty messy, but there have been exciting developments…Mia and her family continue to delight me. They also startled me by having a big argument that wasn’t in the outline but might be a really good idea. The creative process is hilarious.
Next week I head up to the Indigenous Farming Conference for a couple days, and so I hope to have stories to tell, and permission to tell ’em.
Hugs all round, as my brother would say!
I’m so happy to hear that there will be a third book! I’m a fan of the previous two books. You’ve written them with such detail that whenever I read them, I get hungry for Italian food!
Hello Ms. Beyer,
I’m very excited that your working on the 3rd book for the Demon Catchers. I love the series very much and can’t wait for it to come out. Now I honestly don’t know how your going to write this because I’m not you and I don’t have your creative brain, but I do have a theory of the how the demon and Mia’s family are connected. Now of course I don’t know if my theory is right or wrong but hear me out. I believe that when the demon was human and alive very long time ago, he knew the Della Torres even than. But he knew one in particular, a female he calls Alcione, who- unfortunately for her, Mia looks like. Perhaps HIS Alcione betrayed him with someone else, which is why when he spoke to Mia on that night of I guess Christmas night more or less; he called her I believe a whore? In which case because he believes that Mia is his Alcione either by looks or something else he is more attentive to her than the others. Because he did attack Emilio father but maybe because of a trait that both he and Mia share that reminds him of Alcione. Either way, I believe something happened between him and the Della Torres family that possible ended him in heartbreak and to seek revenge he attack last those who might have represented Alcione or her family.
Yay! I’ve been waiting for it. I love this series.
