YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY wow wow wow.

What this means is that Leslie Holleran and Valda Witt, Badasses, have purchased the right to shop my wee book round Hollywood for eighteen months. Holleran is the gal that brought The Cider House Rules and Chocolat to the screen, and a more recent acclaimed project is The Assassin. I have talked with them both and I’m impressed. I found them canny, determined, and well aware of the strengths of the story.

As I have been saying to everyone, this is the beginningest beginning. Holleran and Witt recommended that I celebrate each moment along the way, because not only do more movies not get made than get made, but also if you keep your eye on the end result you’ll go nuts.

I don’t want to go nuts, because I have a kid and books to write and stuff to do. So I’m celebrating the heck out of this.

But oh, what a movie it would make. I could see scenes in my mind’s eye while I was writing it.

What’s your favorite book to film project? And what do you to celebrate the cool moments in your life?
