Goofy alphabet
07011

I finish a lot of my work within six months of the first drawing.  This piece is an exception: I put the first lines down on the final block back when my young friend Rhys was first learning his alphabet.  Now he can read 50 pages of Harry Potter in a day.  Of course, he's an unusual kid—he's moved from one to the other in about half the time most children take.  But that's still a long time for a drawing of mine to occupy a watercolor block.  Creativity (like learning) moves in funny ways.  I particularly like the “C” in cowboy boots.
